Because a black man’s skin is darker in color – it might be easy to overlook those first few wrinkles that are appearing. But if you are not taking care of your skin – you are still getting wrinkles, unnecessarily.

The largest organ in the body is the skin! Men are lucky in that a women’s skin seems to age more easily than men’s do. That is because, in general, women’s skin is thinner. But we can still get wrinkles! The biggest factor that ages the skin and causes wrinkles are smoking, free radicals, and excess sun damage.

By nourishing the skin, as well as our mind and spirit, we can reverse the sands of time, and turn the clock back on aging.

It is a known and proven fact that stress is a major cause of sickness and disease. Stress may be caused by trauma in your childhood, where you could not express your emotions and it has carried over into your present life. And stress may occur from the events of your everyday life. If we can reduce the stress we experience, then we can improve the natural radiance and health that is our right. By taking action now, you can create a healthier you, skin and all.

Wrinkles can be the result of repressed rage, frustration, shame, and self-judgment about yourself, your job, your relationships (or lack of a relationship). Even the world situation can cause stress at a deep level in the muscle tissue. (Turn off the TV.) There are emotional reasons why they body accumulates wrinkles and lines in the face. These unconscious emotions may even be the root cause of the disease called Fibromyalgia. Stress and associated, unresolved emotions can be a serious threat to one’s health and result in premature aging of the skin.

Transcendental meditation or as commonly called “TM” has given significantly positive results in some peoples’ appearance, health and well-being. But there are, of course, many way to meditate.

Physical activity is another stress reliever. Whether you workout at the gym three days a week, or go for a walk a few times a week, any conscious physical activity can make some of the stress and unresolved emotions your body is holding onto, disappear.

Take the time away from you busy life and connect with your inner being. Just being conscious of yourself, can help loosen the tension in your shoulders… Establish a friendly relationship with yourself and you can maintain your good looks and the health of your body.

Another way to slow down the aging process that mars the beauty of your skin is to get get a good night’s sleep. Being well rested is essential to beauty and good health. Try to go to bed at the same time every night. Count the hours that you have in bed – eight hours are best. If you have to get up early some morning, then try to go to bed earlier the night before. It does not make good sense to stay up late when you know you have to arise extra early the next day.

The food we eat is also essential to keeping your skin in good health! Eat organic, fresh foods, that you prepare yourself. This is a natural way to work with the body to increase better health. Partly cooked, organic food contains more enzymes and life force energy than overly cooked or processed food. By giving the body the correct “fuel,” you will start looking younger and stay youthful.
